WILD WILD WILDERNESS 2020 VIRTUAL RUN
Wild Wild Wilderness 2020 is here! Yes, it’s here! Join in as we go back to the 80’s to Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Wild Wild Wilderness with a Mixtape. What does that mean? Well…………………………………………………………………………..
it just means we are going to mix things up this year. For starters, this year’s race is Virtual! You have 3 race options, 30 days to complete it and because its virtual you can run anywhere.
(Hint: Like the wilderness trail. Lol)
We have sensed your excitement about getting back to the KRR races this year and we are pleased to open registration. Here’s what you can expect this year:
Registration:
Click on the link below to sign up now for this year’s virtual version of WWW! Registration will close on September 19, 2020. To receive a medal, you must sign up by August 31st. All participants who sign up by September 19th for either race or the challenge will get a buff and anyone who signs up for the challenge (both races) will also get a shirt.

Location:
This year’s race is virtual. You have the option this year to run where you like as long as you run the designated length of the race selected.
OR
you can choose to run the actual course located in Kickapoo State Park Recreation Area, west of Danville, IL. Take I-74 to exit 206 or 210 and follow the signs to the park. Both courses start near the Meadow Shelter. You can run the 7.45 Wilderness Trail, the 5K Clear Pond Trail, or both trails. You will enjoy a rugged course in the woods, where you will climb and descend steep hills and cross creeks and bridges. If you are lucky, you may even see a deer, turkey, or other wildlife. This is a scenic and challenging run!
Date/Time:
This year’s race is virtual, which means you have 30 days to complete the race. Submit your race results on www.runsignup.com between September 1st and September 30th, 2020 to get credit for completing and to receive your race swag!

Awards:
Kennekuk medals will be presented to all the runners who sign up no later than August 31st this year. This is the 40th Anniversary of this race and we want to recognize our loyal runners for working hard to stay safe and healthy in these uncertain times. A buff will be given for signing up for any of the three race options and shirts will be given to all challenge participants.
Regulations:
No refunds. The race must be completed in one day, not over the course of 30 days. If running the challenge, both races must be completed within 48 hours of each other.
